My cute boyfriend loved my peppermint Oreo truffles that I made for Christmas so much that he begged me to make them again. So for valentines day, since we are both broke from moving, I decided to surprise him and make him some. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, this should remind you.
This is possibly the easiest cheapest sweet treat out there. All you need is:
1 pack of regular Oreos
1 block of cream cheese
1 package of Vanilla melting block
Common sense tells you to crush up your Oreos. I use my FANTASTIC ninja food processor, but the old fashioned way will do too. The key is to get them as fine as possible. Next, mix in your cream cheese. Your arm will want to fall off but keep smashing until your cream cheese is mixed in well with your Oreos. Next, roll up your sleeves and dig in! Please make sure you take off any rings you have before this… Create walnut-size balls and place them aside. TRICK: get the mini cupcake wrappers to put your balls in. This will come in handy on the next step. After you have a dozen or so balls, it’s time to melt your vanilla (almond bark works just as well). Follow the instructions on the package. I like to use a large serving spoon to drop the vanilla over the balls. You do what works best for you. Obviously they don’t get completely cornered, but they taste just the same. Sprinkle some sparkly-sprinkles on top and let them sit in your fridge for at least an hour. Enjoy!
Hope you all have a fantastic Valentine’s Day! Lots of love!
