I grew up idolizing Reese Witherspoon. From her romcoms to her wardrobe, she’s always carried her confidently and independently. Need I mention the kiddos who are gorgeous?! Recently, Witherspoon launched a lifestyle company + editorial called Draper James, and it’s adorable. Southern charm mixed with elegant grace, Draper James celebrates the Nashville-bred actress’ Southern heritage and her greatest influences: her grandmother Dorothea Draper and grandfather William James Witherspoon.
Offering home and gift items, accessories, jewelry, and clothing, the brand reflects ladylike Southern style (pearls, lace, and fit-and-flare dresses), Southern tradition (mint julep cups, embroidered linen napkins, and thank-you notes), and even Southern motifs (magnolia flowers, peaches, and horseshoes). Witherspoon says, “In the South, there’s a lot of color, prints, tradition, traditional fabrics like gingham, plaids, stripes. There’s also definitely a feeling that what you wear makes you feel better, especially if you’re wearing color, prints or joyful things.” Amen to that.
Forty percent of the collection is also made in the South, including stationery from Charleston’s Hanna Nation Seabrook and silver from Charleston’s Kaminer Haislip. Her goal is that the brand will inspire consumers to visit the South.
Make sure you check out Draper James and try not to fall in love with everything you see. Here’s a few pieces I’m dying to own:
