StyleBlueprint, a daily source of information for the Southeast’s fastest-growing online lifestyle publication, is hosting their second annual charity contest for Birmingham and I’ve entered the Alzheimer’s Association in honor of my dear sweet friend who’s grandmother is battling this terrible disease. Nearly 44 million people worldwide having Alzheimer’s or a related dementia, so you can imagine how many families are affected.
StyleBlueprint is giving away $5000 to the charity with the MOST VOTES. If you have a moment, please go and vote for the Alzheimer’s Association. It’s not listed as one the charities, but you can entered it in the box labeled “Other”. If you have a minute, watch this short video regarding the facts about Alzheimer’s.
During the first round of voting, which is taking place from now to Oct. 18, Birmingham residents can choose from 50 Birmingham charities or write in a favorite nonprofit. For a full list of the included charities, please visit the contest page on StyleBlueprint Birmingham’s website.
During week two of the contest, from Oct. 19 to Oct. 25, the field will be narrowed to just 12. Six nonprofits will then move on to week three of the contest, which will take place from Oct. 26 to Nov. 1. The top three nonprofits will proceed to the final week of voting, from Nov. 2 to Nov. 8. The winning charity will be announced on Monday, Nov. 9. Voting will end at 6 p.m. Central time at the end of each week of voting. In addition to donating $5,000 to the selected nonprofit, StyleBlueprint will highlight the winning organization’s leader in its FACES of Birmingham feature.
